The Dutch Kickboxing Association This page contains a short summery of the information you can fin don the official website of the NKBB. The NKBB was the first kickboxing association to promote Muay Thai Kickboxing in the Netherlands. They did this with the help of a couple of hard working volunteers who made difference. In the starting years the Dutch government made it a hard to get kickboxing accepted by a larger public, the even made a move to ban it altogether. But the sport caught on and is still growing in the Netherlands … it never came to an official ban. The NKBB is an all round association, they divide their attention between the professionals and the amateurs. This is an deliberate choice in there eyes there can’t be a professional top without a strong amateur base. With that in mind they go out to the dojo’s to improve the level of training and to make a connection with the fighters. The also organize gala’s in partnership with promoters and dojo’s. The NKBB is a good organized association which seeks to get kickboxing to be recognized by the FOG (the Dutch fight sport association). This is sometimes hard because of the large number of associations, promoters and dojo’s which all want to have there say. But this will not stop the NKBB in getting bigger and more professional organized every day.
